surviving the summer heat with healthy popsicles

all natural popsicles for toddler

It is currently 100 degrees in Pasadena and we are melting. In order to make these summer days more bearable, I have been making Eli popsicles. He loves them and eats every last bit. He sometimes even proceeds to eat mine after he is done with his. The best part about them is that they are completely natural and so good for him. I usually make myself a smoothie and save enough for one or 2 popsicles, which will be ready to go in a few hours. I don’t have a set formula but this is what was in the one he was eating today. Keep in mind this recipe will make enough for a smoothie and popsicles. Feel free to add or subtract any ingredients.

Ingredients:

1 banana
1 cup of kale
1 tbs chia seeds
1 tbs flaxseed
1 tsp acai powder
1 tsp maca powder
1 tsp mct oil
1 scoop organic protein
Water to 20-24 ounces

Other ingredients I usually like to add:

1 cup of spinach
1 apple
1 pear
1 cup of frozen berries
1 avocado
1 tbs coconut flakes
Almond milk

Blend it all together and fill as many popsicle containers as desired. I like to use these popsicle molds. It’s super easy to get them in and out. Enjoy!
